Analyzes the direct and indirect causes of deforestation agents in some territories of the Colombian Amazon.
Changes in coverage and land use, among which deforestation stands out, are carried out by agents and are due to direct and indirect causes.
The Sinchi Institute, as part of the studies to stabilize the colonization processes, which are generating the expansion of the agricultural frontier on the Amazonian forests, has carried out several studies of deforestation drivers, which allow the characterization of the agents, the causes (direct and indirect) and the predetermining factors. These studies are carried out with an approach that takes into account three geographical approaches: regional (Colombian Amazon), subregional (departmental) and finally local (Municipal). These studies are the basic information to propose alternatives for the use of the territory for the sustainable development of the Amazon region.
