Monitoring of the terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems of the Colombian Amazon at a scale of 1:100,000
The monitoring of the terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems of the Colombian Amazon at a scale of 1:100,000 and the monitoring of the dynamics of change allow threats to be detected and the impact of human activity on these ecosystems to be measured. An ecosystem is a defined geographic space that is identified as the confluence of an association of: climate, geoforms, substrates, communities, living organisms and specific anthropic uses (Rodríguez, et al., 2004). The union of the climate layer, with the geomorphology layer and the cover layer results in the ecosystem layer, which is initially divided into terrestrial ecosystems and aquatic ecosystems, the latter depending on the interaction of the valley landscapes, small valleys and flood planes from the geomorphology layer.
