Hotspots
Hot spots are defined as a thermal anomaly on the ground (Di Bella, et al., 2008), detected from MODIS and VIIRS images traveling on the Terra, Aqua and Suomi-NPP and Suomi NOAA-20 satellites. These hot spots are actually approximations to fires or potential fire spots (Di Bella, et al., 2008).
Provides information on possible fires or burning in the Colombian Amazon to contribute to the early activation of prevention and control measures.
Here you can access the information and reports made by analyzing the data taken from NASA "Active Fire Data" (MODS and VIIRS Sensors) and published daily by the SINCHI Institute.
According to the NASA notification, as of July 26, 2022, it was reported that the Suomi NPP sensor is temporarily out of operation; therefore, it has not been possible to process the information coming from the sensor. The data reported by SIAT-AC correspond to the MODIS and VIIRS (NOAA-20) sensors.
